New Delhi, Nov 07: In a show of unity ahead of the
coming assembly poll, three senior leaders of Rajasthan BJP
today refuted reports of differences within the state unit
over ticket distribution and claimed the party was geared up
to defeat the "incompetent, most corrupt and anti-people"
Congress government.
In a joint statement released here, party's chief
ministerial candidate and state unit president Vasundhare
Raje, leader of opposition in state assembly Gulab Chand
Kataria and state unit general secretary Prakash Chandra
claimed that the procedure for selection of candidates has
been "most transparent and democratic" in recent times.
Asserting that reports of BJP leaders and cadres being unhappy with ticket allocation were "far from the truth and contrary to ground realities", the statement said feedbacks were taken right from the grassroot level to ensure that the "most acceptable and winnable candidates" were chosen taking into account the aspirations and views of party workers and leaders in each and every constituency in the state.
As for the disgruntled elements, the leaders said, "we are confident that they will live upto the party traditions and join the party campaign with renewed vigour once the dust settles down."
The leaders also urged the media not to "fall prey to the machinations of a desperate and frustrated congress led by Sonia Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot to prevent their imminent downfall and defeat in the ensuing elections by maligning the BJP and projecting non-existing differences in it."
