New Delhi, Nov 13: In a play-safe strategy BJP today decided to field its chief ministerial candidate for Rajasthan, Vasundhare Raje, from a second constituency, Pilawa, in the assembly elections scheduled for December one. Raje is also contesting from Jhalarpatan and both the assembly seats are in her Lok Sabha constituency of Jhalawar.

"Rajasthan state unit was of the view that she should contest from two constituencies and that is why it was decided to field her from another constituency too," party spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters here.

However, the party ruled out that its chief ministerial candidate for Madhya Pradesh, Uma Bharati would be contesting from another assembly seat.

Naqvi said the party has completed the exercise of selection of candidates for the four assembly elections leaving four seats for Akali Dal (Badal) in Delhi and three seats for Janata Dal (U) in Rajasthan.

He said 50 per cent of the candidates in these assembly elections are new faces most of them are youth leaders.
The party is fielding a total of 53 women, 86 scheduled caste and 89 scheduled tribe candidates.
