New Delhi, Nov 10: The third SAARC Information Ministers Conference will be held here tomorrow to discuss free movement of media personnel within SAARC countries, setting up a SAARC media fund and framing model guidelines on transnational satellite broadcasting among a host of other issues. The conference, which is scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will also witness a proposal by India to hold a SAARC film festival, but a meeting of Indian and Pakistani ministers of Information and Broadcasting is not on the agenda.

The meet will discuss model guidelines on transnational broadcasting even as Indian television channels as well as films are banned in Pakistan and so is the movement of Indian artistes to that country.

Among the issues expected to be taken up at the meeting include evolution of a SAARC recognised regional media forum, holding an annual conference of editors and working journalists from these countries and training of media personnel in the region.
