Mumbai, Feb 07: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena will hold a meeting next week to finalise a strategy for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Talking to reporters here this evening, BJP's Maharashtra president Gopinath Munde said the meeting, besides giving a final shape to their strategy, would also chalk out a joint campaign programme and also put the seal on a joint manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections. The meeting will be attended by BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan, leader of the opposition in the state legislative council Nitin Gadkari, former state unit president Bhausaheb Phundkar and Munde himself from the BJP, while Sena supremo would lead the delegation from the Sena which would comprise his son and nephew Uddhav and Raj respectively, former chief minister Narayan Rane and Subhash Desai. The BJP will contest from 26 Lok Sabha constituencies, while the Sena would field their candidates from 22 constituencies, he said adding that both the parties have sought to change one constituency.
