A homeguard was killed and five policemen injured when the roof of a police station armoury collapsed on them in Agra on Monday following an explosion in a stack of cracker bombs stored there, police said. Senior superintendent of police P K Tiwari said that the incident occurred when a large quantity of countrymade cracker bombs, seized in a raid on Sunday in nearby Dhaurra village and stored in a room in Etmadpur Police Station, went off at 2 PM apparently due to heat.
The deceased was identified as Virendra Singha, he said adding that the injured were hospitalised.
