BJP charges Gehlot govt with terror campaign against party
New Delhi, Sept 20: Ahead of the coming elections to the state assembly, BJP today accused the Congress government in Rajasthan of `letting loose a reign of terror` against the party including the recent attack on the Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria when he visited a hospital in Bikaner and police action on party and Sangh Parivar activists across the state.
New Delhi, Sept 20: Ahead of the coming elections to the state assembly, BJP today accused the Congress government in Rajasthan of "letting loose a reign of terror" against the party including the recent attack on the Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria when he visited a hospital in Bikaner and police action on party and Sangh Parivar activists across the state.
"There have been a number of incidents of unprovoked police action against party workers in the state and these acts of the Ashok Gehlot government is a matter of serious
concern. A delegation of state unit will be meeting Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani for immediate action," party spokesman Prakash Javdekar told reporters here.
He alleged that police lathicharged students after the RSS-backed ABVP won the Rajasthan University Students Union elections last month besides opening fire on Bajrang Dal activists in Jhalawar resulting in injury to 16 people.
Meanwhile, party sources said that Kataria met party president M Venkaiah Naidu yesterday and briefed him about the various incidents in the state.
