New Delhi, May 26: Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a cricket betting racket and arrested eight persons in this connection. Acting on a tip off, sleuths raided a residential complex at Saraswati Vihar locality in north-west Delhi last night and arrested the alleged kingpin of the racket Mukesh Nagpal and house owner Subhash red-handed while they were busy in betting for the Australia-West Indies one-day cricket match being played yesterday, police said here.
Police also seized three television sets, one laptop computer, three personal computer, 17 mobile phones, one printer, 450 betting slips and one recorder from a briefcase which was fitted with three telephone lines, they said. Later, police arrested six accomplices of Nagpal who have been identified as Rajiv Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Praveen Kumar, Annu Kumar and Jitender, they added. Bureau Report
