Malang (Indonesia), May 30: The Indonesian government has decided to explore gold deposits located in the Malang district of East Java province in collaboration with Malaysian and Chinese investors, official sources said. "The local administration will hold more discussions with the foreign investors on the exploration of the gold deposits in the district," head of the provincial mines and energy Gatot Daryanto told reporters yesterday. Besides the two foreign investors, the local administration would also take the help of the directorate general of geology and mineral (Jakarta) for mapping the gold deposits and for preparation of heavy equipment to be used for exploration, Daryanto said. "We hope that the gold explorations would increase the local administration's revenues and improve the local people's welfare," he added. Bureau Report
