Beijing, Nov 19: Chinese and US officials today
held talks on the second round of six-party dialogue on the
North Korean nuclear issue.
The talks were held between Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi and US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian Affairs James Kelly. However, details of their talks were not released. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Jianchao yesterday said that Kelly will exchange views with the Chinese side on China-US relations, the North Korean nuclear issue and other important international issues. Though Liu did not comment on the date of the second round of talks, media reports from Tokyo as well as Seoul indicate that it could be held in mid-December here in the Chinese capital. Beijing hosted the first six-party talks on the North Korean nuclear issue in late August.
