Violence-hit Marad to get free medical aid
Kozhikode, Nov 28: Aimed at extending an helping hand to the people of nearby Marad, which was hit by violence during May last, a voluntary organisation here has come forward to provide free medical care in the area on December 07.

Addressing a press conference here today, director of the Calicut Port city rotary community service, N P Sajith Kumar said unlike regular camps, the rotary would register the names
of the people in advance and diagnose their disease so that they could be provided with necessary medicines during the camp.
Stating that there was an overwhelming response, he said over 600 persons had already registered with the camp to be inaugurated by the district collector, T O Sooraj. Among those who had come forward to support the cause were the medical college hospital, dental college and the corporate P V S Hospital here, he said, adding treatment would be made available to also those suffering from major ailments.
Nine persons were killed in a sudden attack in the seaside village on may two.
