Eldest daughter of former Haryana MLA Sonia has confessed that she has clubbed to death her father plus seven members of her family, on Thursday night while they were asleep at their farm house in Litani village in Hissar.
The police are waiting for Sonia to recover so that they can reach to the bottom of the motive behind the gruesome killings, which are not apparent right now. Sonia was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition as she had consumed poison in an attempt to commit suicide after killing her family members. All the victims were done to death by iron rods and the bodies were found lying on their beds with blood splattered around.
Those killed include the former MLA Relu Ram Punia, his wife Krishna, their daughter Priyanka, son Sunil and his wife and their three children, police said. The killings came to notice after villagers grew suspicious when normal activities were not noticed this morning and opened the house only to find the bodies. Punia, who was elected to the state Assembly in 1996, had organised a birthday party in his farm house on Thursday night.
The police said the identity of the killers and the motive behind the gruesome killings was not immediately known. Senior superintendent of police Rajpal Singh and other officials have reached the spot. Bureau Report
