Pondicherry, Nov 12: Pondicherry Health Minister E Valsaraj told reporters here today that it was true that there were shortage of doctors in some of the units in the government head quarters hospital here. He said that it was indeed a matter of concern that an MLA's son could not get proper attention at the hospital for treatment of multiple injuries sustained in a road accident. Valsaraj said that he had convened an emergency meeting with the chief secretary, secretary to health, doctors and head of the department of health later in the evening to review the working of the general hospital in the context of an allegation the former local administration minister Theni C Jayakumar had made against the hospital authorities yesterday. Son of the former minister J Aravindan was allegedly neglected in the hospital without proper disclosure of the CT scan taken on the injuries. Bureau Report
