Florida, Apr 07: Anastasia Myskina won her second title of the year with a comfortable 6-4 6-1 victory over Australian qualifier Alicia Molik. The Russian second seed arrived in Sarasota on a three-match losing streak but bounced back to take the $22,000 top prize with five wins in a row on the clay in Florida.
Myskina is building on the success she achieved last season when she won one title and reached three finals to qualify for the season-ending championship. She also won the Qatar Women's Open in February to break into the world's top 10 for the first time.
Despite the loss, Molik is enjoying her best year to date. She claimed her first career WTA title in January at Hobart and reached the fourth round at the Nasdaq-100 Open in Miami.
