New Delhi, July 18: Motorola's long-pending proposal to undertake wholesale marketing, cash and carry stocking and sale of goods has been cleared by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board, the company said in a statement on Friday. FIPB has also cleared the sale and supply of capital infrastructure goods for two-way radio systems, broadband communication equipment, cellular and WLL infrastructure equipment and other infrastructure required for establishing communication systems and networks to telecom service operators, wholesalers, distributors and institutional customers, it added.

"The clearance from FIPB is a welcome step for Motorola India. Motorola has been one of the oldest and largest telecom solution partners for India and we expect to maintain our leadership position through our extensive product portfolio," director of Corporate Law Department, India office of Motorola Rajesh Madan said.
Motorola wants to undertake wholesale trading and marketing of wireless handsets including GSM and CDMA ones, two-way handsets, set top boxes for the internet, broadcasting and broadband communication to wholesaler, distributors and telecom service providers. Bureau Report
