New Delhi, Aug 30: A Delhi court today issued a production warrant against underworld don Aftab Ansari who is currently lodged in a Calcutta jail for his alleged role in the January 2002 attack on American Center. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) K S Pal issued a fresh warrant to produce Ansari alias Farhan Malik before the court by September 25. Ansari had allegedly conspired with two others for securing bail showing bogus surety. On April 4 this year, CMM Sangita Dhingra Sehgal had dismissed the bail plea of Ram Avtar who allegedly stood surety for Ansari under the fictitious name Mohammed Farooq. CMM Sehgal had taken cognizance of a complaint by Additional Sessions Judge R S Arya that another accused Satya Narain Sharma had arranged for Ansari's bail on bogus and non-existing surety through fake documents procured fraudulently to deceive the court.
It was clear that some criminal gang indulging in such activities are supplying fake Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDRs) for securing bails from courts which must not be encouraged, the sessions judge had said.
Ram had claimed that the FDR for Aftab's bail bond was issued by Allahabad Bank's Bhajan Pura branch. But Allahabad Bank chief manager had informed the court in writing that the bank had no such branch at Bhajan Pura.

The CMM had earlier issued a production warrant against Ansari on July 7 this year. Ansari is also the prime accused in the kidnapping of shoe baron Parthapratim Roy Burman in Kolkata. He was deported to India in February 2002 from UAE
