Patna, Aug 14: Observing that kidnapping and extortion have become a burning problem in Bihar, the Patna high court today directed the state government to transfer within six weeks senior police officers from the rank of superintendents of police to inspectors general, serving in at a place for more than four years.
The court also ordered transfer of officials below SP rank to the level of havildar who were posted at a place for more than three years within three weeks.
