Bhopal, June 19: Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Prakash Gupta today appointed Justice Ripudaman Dayal as the new Lokayukta for the state. Justice Dayal's tenure will begin from the date he assumes office, a Raj Bhawan notification said. He succeeds Justice Faizanuddin who retired on April 28. Justice Dayal, in capacity of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in a Delhi court in late 70s, had acquitted then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in a criminal case.
