Ahmedabad, Nov 28: The Gujarat BJP will kick off its election campaign for the December 12 assembly polls today, party general secretary Arun Jaitley said. Talking to mediapersons, Jaitley said the decision was taken at a high-level meeting of BJP leaders including caretaker chief minister Narendra Modi, his predecessor Keshubhai Patel and others, held at Modi`s residence.
The election campaign will be kicked off by Keshubhai Patel, Jaitley said adding that venue will be announced later.
Giving details of the campaign, he said nearly 20 central BJP leaders including Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, BJP chief M Venkaiah Naidu, Union minister for Information Technology Pramod Mahajan, coal minister Uma Bharti and human resources development minister Murli Manohar Joshi will address rallies in various constituencies from November 30.
The poll manifesto, he said, has been given final touches and will be declared on December one.
