New Delhi, Sept 16: An Indian sculptor has been invited to participate in china international sand sculpture competition, 2003 at Zhoshan.
Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik is the only Indian sculptor
to have been invited for the event. Ten artists from all over
the world have been invited for the competition, according to
a release from Inaxi, co-organisers of the event.
The theme of the competition is "silk road" and artists would make a nearly 20 feet high statue from sand, the release said.
"I plan to make a 20 ft traditional Indian Buddha statue in sand," said Pattnaik, who won prizes at the sand sculpture championships in Spain and Berlin earlier this year.
Pattnaik has been practising the unique art form for the past 13 years at the Puri beach in Orissa.
