Chennai, Mar 26: The three-day strike by workers of BPCL and HPCL was called off in the southern region on the second day today in view of yesterday's Madras High Court order restraining the workers from going on strike. According to local spokesmen of the Petroleum Employees Union and Petroleum Workers Union, the two unions which gave the strike call, the strike was withdrawn in the light of the High Court order. The unions also informed the matter to the High Court today.
The strike which began yesterday had little impact on retail sales as supplies were not affected in any parts in the south.
