Ayodhya, Sept 23: Efforts should be made to solve the vexed Ayodhya issue through dialogue, noted writer and chairman of Centre for study of secularism Asgar Ali engineer has said.

the vexed Ayodhya issue through dialogue, noted writer and
chairman of Centre for study of secularism Asgar Ali engineer
has said.
"The temple movement is gaining momentum and
fundamentalis forces have started spreading the venom of
hatred. The time has come to solve the Ram temple issue
through dialogue," he said while speaking at a seminar here
yesterday.
If a solution through negotiated settlement fails, the
concerned parties should give an assurance that they would
honour the court verdict on the issue, engineer said.
"It is basically a local problem between members of two communities. But its tremors are felt all over India," he said.
Engineer said unity and integrity of the country would be in perils if serious attempts were not made to stop the campiagn of communal forces.

Meanwhile, Ayodhya Manch, a local-social organisation,
decided to undertake social service programmes for the benefit
of the people.
"Instead of meddling in Ayodhya issue, we will try to
keep the city clean and help the people to get water and
electricity," Manch Convener Abhishek Mishra said.
