Ahmedabad, Dec 02: Samata Party, contesting 25 seats in the Gujarat Assembly, today released its election manifesto pledging to combat communalism and fight the menace of terrorism in the country. Releasing the manifesto, the party`s state unit chief Pravinsinh Jadeja and national general secretary Shambhu Srivastava told newsmen here that Godhra and post-Godhra carnage were both unfortunate, but they were not making them poll issues.

The Congress and the BJP were responsible for the communal tension in the country, they opined. All political parties must evolve a minimum programme to contain communalism, they felt.
With the country facing acute problems of unemployment, food and water scarcity besides corruption in the higher echelons, all parties should come forward to jointly tackle these issues, the manifesto states.
The manifesto holds both the BJP government in recent years and previous Congress rule equally responsible for backlog of development in Gujarat. Bureau Report
