Jabalpur, Sept 17: Madhya Pradesh High Court has dismissed a public interest litigation filed by senior BJP leader Sunderlal Patwa alleging that Cabinet ministers in Digvijay Singh government had got valuable land allotted to themselves for residential purposes.
A division bench comprising Justice Dipak Mishra and Justice A K Shrivastava dismissed the petition as having "no substance" after hearing the threadbare argument.
Patwa had alleged that cabinet ministers of Digvijay Singh-government, including deputy Chief Minister Subash Yadav, Urmila Singh, Harvansh Singh, Ravindra Choubey, Bisahulal Singh, Shiv Netam and Ram Niwas Rawat, after filing false affidavits in collusion with Bhopal Development Authority and MP housing board in the 1998, had got themselves allotted valuable plots for the construction of residential houses. The former Union minister had prayed for a high-level probe by CBI against these Cabinet ministers and if found guilty be prosecuted for the `illegal' action.
The bench said the allegations levelled against these Cabinet ministers were false and not based on valid proofs submitted by Patwa.
It also warned Patwa that whenever he sought the court's intervention, he must come with proper evidence `as the court cannot permit any body howsoever, influential he may be to malign any body for political ends by levelling false and baseless allegations'. Bureau Report
