Gaya, Sept 17: Some more evidences were today collected by Bihar police from the site of Rajdhani Express derailment near Rafiganj during its investigation into the nature and the cause of the September 9 mishap. Aurangabad Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Jha visited the site this morning and collected more evidences about the "accident", Deputy Inspector General of Police, Magadh Range N C Dhondhiyal said. He, however, refused to divulge the details saying it was "confidential."
Two fish plates, bolts, a nine-metre length of rail, 15 sleepers and other materials were collected as evidence by Dhondhiyal and Jha from the accident spot on Sunday.

Police probe into the mishap is a follow up of the FIR filed by it against railway employees alleging negligence in the maintenance of the Dhave railway bridge and the tracks that led to the derailment.

The DIG, who himself is monitoring the case on day-to-day basis, said that if required the chairman of the railway board M S Rana would also be questioned.

Dhondhiyal said that he would depose before the railway safety commissioner, eastern circle, Mahesh Chandra, holding a statutory inquiry into the mishap at Gaya station today.

Meanwhile, Chandra continued with the in-camera recording of the statements of those providing evidences about the mishap for the second day today.
The railway probe team on the first day of its inquiry yesterday had recorded statements of over 60 people including the driver, co-driver, guard and loco inspector of the express.
