Jammu, Dec 02: The Jammu and Kashmir government has
stressed that it does not make backdoor appointments in
government jobs with the entire recruitment system being
institutionalized with political authority having no role in
it.
Selections are made purely on merit and as per procedure
in a transparent manner with every area getting its due
share, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed told a group of
Jammu Muslim Federation (JMF) leaders here last evening.
No backdoor appointments had been made in his one-year rule in Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti told them.
He said there was no question of showing preference to any area or section of the population in recruitment, adding that the entire recruitment set-up had been institutionalised with political authority having no role in it at all.
The Chief Minister also said that the minimum qualification for teaching English in primary schools was graduation. If qualified candidates are not available in a particular locality, youth from adjoining areas are being appointed, he said, adding this had been done to ensure only qualified teachers were selected.
Referring to the appointments made of the victims of militancy, he said these jobs were given where there existed large number of victims. Bureau Report
