Mumbai, July 10: NCP today said it was willing to reconsider the foreign origin issue of congress president Sonia Gandhi to achieve the objective of defeating "communal forces".
"In the event of secular forces coming to power and the Congress bagging the largest number of seats in the Lok Sabha, it will be improper for the NCP to oppose Sonia as the prime ministerial candidate", NCP spokesman Vasant Chavan told reporters here.
Welcoming the congress stance of forging alliance with secular-minded parties to defeat "fascist forces", Chavan said NCP was willing to reconsider its stance on the foreign origin issue.
