India and Germany on Friday held discussions on the global coalition against terrorism and the current regional and international situation in the wake of the ongoing military strikes on Afghanistan.
The issues came up at the third round of Indo-German strategic dialogue held here. The Indian side at the talks was led by foreign secretary Chokila Iyer while the German delegation was headed by the Country's State Secretary Jurgen Chrolog. An external affairs ministry spokesperson said “the discussions covered all bilateral, regional and international issues and those relating to relations with the US, Russia, China and the European community.”
“The focus, however, was on the current international situation and the global coalition against terrorism,” the spokesperson added. Mr Chrolog called on External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh and also met National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra The discussions were also a precursor to the coming visit of German Chancellor Gerhard Shroeder later this month.
Mr Jaswant Singh was in Germany a few days ago where he held talks with German leaders on the global coalition against terrorism in the aftermath of September 11 terrorist attacks on the US. Bureau Report
