Mumbai, July 22: A breach of privilege notice was today moved in Maharashtra legislative assembly against anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare for his reported statement equating MLAs with terrorists.
NCP legislator Ramesh bang moved the privilege notice
against noted social activist for his reported statements at
recent press conference at Arvi and Yavatmal, in Vidarbha.
Hazare, during his recent visit to the area as part of his "Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Andolan" allegedly equated legislators with terrorists who stormed the Akshardham temple, bang alleged.
Hazare had made the statements on may 14, 2003 for "frivolous publicity" and was "misusing" the right to expression, the NCP legislator added.
Bang said the noted social activist had also stated that the MLAs were plundering the people's money and it was a breach of privilege of the sovereign house and its elected representatives.
The speaker Arun Gujrathi said he would take appropriate decision over the privilege notice after due process. Bureau Report
