New Delhi, July 02: Monsoon is likely to hit Delhi in next two to three days with conditions vis-a-vis south-west monsoon "slowly improving", according to an IMD official here today. "Westerly winds which prevailed over northern plains delaying the arrival of the monsoon are now getting weak and we expect the monsoon to hit Delhi in two-three days," Dr Onkari Prasad of IMD said.
Prasad, however, said the south-west monsoon has not yet progressed, though the conditions are slowly improving to brighten chances of its arrival in the capital soon.
"The monsoon is very close to Delhi but it is not proceeding towards the capital as of now," the official said.
"The amount of rainfall recorded in places where monsoon has already reached is good and we expect pre-monsoon showers and thunderstorm in the national capital and nearby areas," he said. Bureau Report
