Patiala, Dec 05: The bail applications of Shamsher Mehndi, elder brother of Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehndi, and his wife Balwinder Kaur were filed in a local court here today. Counsel for the couple H V Rai told reporters that since Shamsher Mehndi was in judicial custody till December 10, his application was filed in the trial court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate P S Dhanoa and the anticipatory bail application of Balwinder Kaur was filed in the court of District and Sessions Judge A N Jindal.
The ACJM has fixed December 12 for the hearing of bail application of Shamsher Mehndi, while bail application of Balwinder Kaur will come up for hearing tomorrow.
In his bail application, Shamsher Mahendi has said he was arrested at Karnal on October 03 and information in this regard was recorded in the Karnal police station but the Patiala police had shown his arrest from Patiala on October 04.
