The "Spectre" star admits he has received his fair share of criticism since taking on the lead role of James Bond in "Casino Royale" but thinks people can be incredibly cruel online.

"If you're even slightly famous, you should avoid the internet at all costs. It's like being bullied at school," he said.

The 47-year-old actor also insists he does not understand the "modern world".

"If me and my mates went out and someone started taking photographs, they'd get thumped. The other thing I don't get is, people are happy to take pictures of me without asking. But things have changed so rapidly."
