Chennai, Nov 28: Eleven persons died and 30 others hospitalised after consuming illicit Arrack at Lakshmipuram in Tiruvalur district of Tamil Nadu, police said today. While four persons died soon after consuming the spurious brew last night in suburban Ponneri, seven more persons succumbed after midnight, they said.

Of more than 30 persons admitted to the government hospital, the condition of some of them was stated to be serious, hospital sources said. A woman, who allegedly sold the brew, has been taken into custody while the search was still on for her husband, police said.
