Shimla, Feb 06: State Presidents of the BJP and Congress Jai Kishen Sharma and Vidya Stokes and Himachal Vikas Congress supremo Sukh Ram were among 215 people to file their nominations for the February 26 assembly poll in Himachal Pradesh on the penultimate day of filing papers. About 36 sitting and former MLAs also entered the fray taking the total number of nominations for election to the 68-member house to 350.
Sharma filed his nominations from Santokhgarh, Stokes from Kumarsein and Sukh Ram from Mandi. Former BJP Minister Vidya Sagar filed nomination as an independent while Deputy Speaker Ram Dass Malangar and Parliamentary Secretary Chet Ram Negi who have been denied BJP tickets filed nominations as BJP and independent candidates from Kutlehar and Kinnaur constituencies respectively. BJP spokesman ganesh dutt filed his nomination from prestigious Shimla constituency, while former assembly Speaker Kaul Singh filed his papers from Darang. Bureau Report
