New Delhi, Oct 05: Infosys and its former employee and director Phaneesh Murthy are in the news again for the wrong reasons. Jennifer Griffith, a former employee of India’s bluechip infotech company has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Infosys and Murthy. The suit has been filed in the superior court of California, Alameda County, and generally alleges that Murthy harassed Griffith while she was employee of the company.

Infosys had in May 2003, settled out-of-court a sexual harassment case filed last July by another ex-employee Ms Reka Maximovitch, against the company and Murthy at a whopping $3 million.
While Infosys had paid $1.5 million to Ms Maximovitch to terminate the litigation filed by her, the balance $1.5 million came from a consortium of three insurers.
This case has cost Infosys almost a million dollars ($900,000) in legal fees. In fact, the dust is yet to settle on the case with the company maintaining that it might consider taking action against Murthy, and he in turn alleging that the company has withheld substantial amount of shares owed to him.
