Patna, July 03: The Bihar government today said it has directed transport department officials to impound vehicles registered outside the state plying in Bihar and release them only after collecting fines. In reply to a starred question by Nand Kishore Ram (RJD), Transport Minister Awadh Bihari Choudhary said officials have been directed to seize vehicles plying on Bihar roads with registration of other states and impose fines on them. Members cutting across party lines grilled the minister for saying that no vehicle registered outside the state was plying in the state. On this the minister clarified that the government has decided to take stringent measures against the erring vehicle owners. Bureau Report
