Elsewhere in Jammu and Kashmir, five militants were among six people killed in separate incidents, while two militants were arrested and another laid down his arms since last night, a police spokesman said.

They said the search party had arrived at the village following specific information about presence of militants there. As the troops laid a cordon around the village, militants hiding in two houses there opened fire, triggering an encounter which continued throughout the night resulting in injuries to a security jawan, Ravinder Raina.
While the troops were tightening the cordon around the village early Monday to plug the escape routes of the holed-up militants, another group of militants attacked the search parties from outside the village, killing the BSF official, the sources said.
They said search of the debris of the two houses, which were gutted in the encounter, was on and that a body of a suspected militant was recovered.
