Darbhanga, Nov 23: The Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) was closed indefinitely today in view of the violent agitation by students.

The students were asked to vacate the hostels immediately in the order passed by the DMCH principal V C S Verma.
The decision to close the medical college was taken in accordance with the opinion of Bihar Medical Education secretary Afzal Amanullah, Verma told pti.
The college was closed indefinitely since the students disregarded the college authorities' appeal and continued their dharna and were disrupting the functioning of the hospital, including the emergency department forcing the patients to leave, he said.
The students were continuing their agitation despite assurances to them by the Additional Director of Health Department Aruna Sinha to fill up the vacant posts of teachers and lab assistants and improve the college infrastructure.
The students have been agitating for the past two days with a view to force the management to take corrective measures before the arrival of a team from Medical Council of India for inspection. Bureau Report
