Jaisalmer, Dec 07: Gujarat-Rajasthan Frontier Headquarters of Border Security Force is being bifurcated for efficient vigil on the Indo-Pak Border, BSF sources said here today. The present headquarters in Jodhpur will be bifurcated into two by setting up a separate headquarters at Gandhinagar in Gujarat, sources said.

The Gandhinagar headquarters of BSF would be responsible for manning 741 kilometers of border along Gujarat and Barmer sector of Rajasthan while jodhpur headquarters would look after 804 kilometer long border along Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Ganganagar districts of Rajasthan, they said.


Union Home Ministry has accepted the proposal sent by the Jodhpur headquarters, however a formal communication on the decision was yet to be received, they added.
