Pakistan on Thursday said President Pervez Musharraf was not insisting on progress on the Kashmir issue as a prerequisite fornormalisation of relations with India at the Agra summit . "Despite clarifications, a misleading impression has been created in this regard. All Gen Musharraf asked for was a tandem progress on all issues including Kashmir," Foreign office spokesman Riaz Mohammad khan told reporters in Islamabad.
He was reacting to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee`s statement on the Agra summit in Parliament that Musharraf focussed his presentation on Kashmir. The spokesman said Pakistan noted with satisfaction that Vajpayee has accepted the invitation to visit Pakistan. "A formal invitation would be sent to both Vajpayee and External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh shortly," he added.
