Jammu, June 20: Boys scored over girls in the Jammu and Kashmir Secondary School board examination the result of which was declared today with a record 46 per cent pass. According to j and k board gazette here, of the total 40843 students who appeared in the examination, 22750 boys and 18093 girls passed out.

Of 96 students who shared first 20 top positions, 50 are boys and 46 girls.

However, top model academy girl, Anshita Koul bagged first position by securing 95.20 per cent followed by another girl, Shilakha Chaman who took second position with 94.20 per cent marks. While third position was secured by Oriental Academy student, Bhanu Mahajan who got 94 per cent marks.

Last year, 41 per cent of students had passed in the board examination and 39 per cent in 2001. "This year it was a record pass per cent," a board official said.
