Islamabad, Dec 13: Pakistan today advised its citizens, particularly pilgrims intending to visit Islamic holy shrines, not to travel to Iraq because of security risks. "The security situation in Iraq has deteriorated considerably during the last few weeks," a foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement. "In view of the situation Pakistanis intending to travel to Iraq specially the Zaireen (pilgrims) are advised not to travel to Iraq till there is a visible improvement in the security situation." Many Pakistanis visit Iraq annually to pay homage at the shrines of fourth Muslim caliph Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Imam Hussain, grandson of prophet Mohammed. Bureau Report
