Ahmedabad, May 15: Cellular service provider Airtel is to link new towns of Gujarat under the expansion programme and by July 15 this year 125 more cities of the state will be linked with its services. The company targets to double the existing number of subscribers from 33 lakhs to over 60 lakhs by end of this year, in 15 of the 22 circles in India, Manoj Kohli, president mobility leaders, Bharti-Tel ventures, told mediapersons here today while launching Airtel's most simple tariff plan “Airtel 0,1,2” for its subscribers. The plan includes free incoming calls from anywhere while outgoing local calls to any GSM mobile subscriber in Gujarat would cost rupee one and STD to any mobile would cost Rs 2 per minute. The ISD calls would cost Rs 15.99 per minute. Kohli said Airtel recently launched its services in five prominent cities in Saurashtra and Kutch region, three in Vadodara belt and another in Surat belt.
Additional coverage for Saurashtra and Kutch region in towns of Morbi Gondal, Jetpur, Vakaner, Motikhadi, Keshod, Dhoraji, Vasai will be provided by June 10 as part of Airtel's third phase of network expansion in Gujarat, he added. Bureau Report
