Coimbatore, Oct 18: Kerala-based People's Democratic
Party (PDP) is planning an agitation seeking release of its
chairman Abdul Nasser Mahdhani, a key accused in the 1998
serial blasts in the city, its general secretary Poonthura
Siraj said today.
The details and strategy of agitation would be announced
in a couple of days after meeting Mahdhani, lodged in the
centre prison here, Siraj told reporters.
Considering the health conditions of Madhani, the party
would appeal to the Tamil Nadu government to release him on
interim bail at least for a month during Ramzan, which begins
from November five or six, Siraj said.
He said PDP had already discussed with many like minded organisations and people, like tribal leader C K Janu and heads of some Muslim organisations, about the agitation, which would be totally peaceful, he said.
The agitation would be in Kerala in the last week of this month, he said.
