BJP demands CBI probe into Dalgaon carnage
Kolkata, Nov 15: The BJP in West Bengal has demanded a CBI inquiry into the Dalgaon carnage in a North Bengal tea estate that claimed 19 lives.
Kolkata, Nov 15: The BJP in West Bengal has demanded a CBI inquiry into the Dalgaon carnage in a North Bengal tea estate that claimed 19 lives.
Blaming the ruling CPI(M) and its trade union wing CITU for the horrific incident, BJP state general secretary Rahul Sinha described it as the outcome of growing internal squabblings among the ruling party members.
Alleging that the victims, including some women, were burnt alive in a pre-planned manner by some CPI(M) party workers in a ''dirty effort to divert the public attention from the poor healthcare condition in the state", Sinha claimed that it also proved the state administration's growing frustration over the constant criticism by the media.
He alleged no organisation under the state government was competent enough to bring out the ''truth'' of the massacre.
He said a five-member party delegation would visit Dalgaon tea estate and the site of the violence on Sunday next to prepare a detailed report to be submitted to the state and the central committees.
Also reiterating the party's decision to file petition against Left Front chairman Biman Bose charging him with contempt of court for his observation against Justice Amitabgha Lala on the issue of rally ban, Sinha said they had filed a special application to state advocate general Balai Chandra Roy requesting him to allow the party to file another contempt of court case against Bose.
He also disclosed the party's plan to organise statewide rallies against the inflation of prices of all commodities and deterioration of law and order condition. Bureau Report
