New Delhi, June 13: CBI today arrested a senior Army officer at Jabalpur for demanding and accepting bribe from a contractor to clear his bills.
New Delhi, June 13: CBI today arrested a senior Army officer at Jabalpur for demanding and accepting bribe from a contractor to clear his bills.
The Army officer, identified as Lt Col R S Yadav, was a commanding officer of the Army Service Corp (supply) at Jabalpur. He was demanding Rs 10,000 from a contractor who used to supply ice to various Army units in Jabalpur, CBI sources said.
The sources said that a large number of the bills of the contractor were pending with the Army unit and Yadav had allegedly demanded the bribe to clear the same.
He was produced before a designated magistrate who remanded him to three days of CBI custody.
Simultaneous searches were being carried out at his residential and official premises.
