Rome, Oct 01: The film "I'm Not Scared" (Io Non Ho Paura) will be Italy's entry for the race for the foreign language Oscar to be handed out at the 76th Annual Academy Awards in February, the Italian Film Industry Academy announced today. The film's director Gabriele Salvatores has already picked up an Oscar for his film "Mediterraneo" in 1992. Countries had until today to submit their films to the Los Angeles-based academy of motion picture arts and sciences. The academy will unveil nominations for Oscars on January 27, ahead of the February 29 show that is being held a month earlier than normal in a bid to shorten the drawn out Hollywood awards season. Some 54 countries entered movies for the 2003 Oscars. The competition was won by Germany's "No-Where In Afrika."
