Mumbai: Veteran actress and Member of Parliament Hema Malini took to Twitter Thursday morning to congratulate a certain Ms Deepika for her engagement. Fans of Bollywood hottie Deepika Padukone were in for a big shock!

Here’s what happened:

On realising that her tweet to the actress’s namesake has stumped a number of people, Malini, took to Twitter again to clarify that it wasn’t Deepika the actress but someone else who follows her on the micro-blogging site.

Had the senior actor not clarified through her tweet, fans of both Ranveer Singh and Deepika would have been wondering about their “supposed” engagement. Though they would love to see DeepVeer (as Ranveer and Deepika are lovingly addressed by their fans) getting engaged, they would certainly not want it to be a hush-hush one.

Nonetheless, neither Deepika nor Ranveer have admitted to being in love with each other, but their PDA says it all.
