New Delhi, May 18: The northern railway has increased passenger capacity of seven trains to handle the summer rush. The new Delhi-Bareilly Intercity, New Delhi-Dehradun Jan Shatabdi Express, Chandigarh-New Delhi Jan Shatabdi Express and New Delhi-Jammu Tawi summer special trains have been augmented by one additional second class sleeper coach each, an NR release said here today.
While the New Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi Express, New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express have been given one additional AC chair car coach each, the New Delhi-Kalka has been augmented by two additional AC chair car coaches, it said. Meanwhile, the railways has also decided to provide additional stoppages to three long distance trains for six months on experimental basis.
These will be - Hazarat Nizamuddin-Chennai Rajdhani Express which will stop at Agra Cantt from June 25 in both the directions for two minutes, the Amritsar-Katihar Express which will stop at Hathras station from June 1 in both the directions for two minutes, it said. The third train, Amritsar-Darbhanga Jan Nayak Express, will stop at Dholi station from May 25 in both the directions for two minutes, the release added. Bureau Report
