Indore, June 10: A local court has issued a Non-Bailable Warrant against Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress president Meenakshi Natrajan for allegedly publishing derogatory slogans against Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajapyee on cow slaughter and beef. The warrant was issued by the first class Judicial Magistrate, Narendra Jain, when the accused failed to appear before the court yesterday, in response to the defamation suit filed by BJP's creative cell coordinator, Umesh Sharma, under Section 500 of IPC.
Earlier also the court had issued summons and bailable warrant against Natrajan in the case, but she failed to appear in the court on the ground of ill-health and her lawyer had sought more time following which the court fixed the date for hearing on June 9.
However, as she did not appear in the court yesterday also, the court issued Non-Bailable Warrant against her.
The court has fixed the next date of hearing on August 5.
