Mumbai, July 17: The court receiver in the case of alleged Bollywood nexus with underworld would depose today before a special court on the financial aspects of Hindi film `Chori Chori Chupke Chupke` reportedly financed by Bharat Shah and produced by Nasim Rizvi at the behest of Pakistan-based gangster Chhota Shakeel.
Mumbai, July 17: The court receiver in the case of
alleged Bollywood nexus with underworld would depose today
before a special court on the financial aspects of Hindi film
'Chori Chori Chupke Chupke' reportedly financed by Bharat Shah
and produced by Nasim Rizvi at the behest of Pakistan-based
gangster Chhota Shakeel.
The designated judge A P Bhangale summoned Santosh Jain,
who was earlier appointed as the court receiver to receive the
sale proceeds of the film. The court today concluded recording
of evidence of investigating officer Shanker Kamble.
The deposition of the court receiver is considered
significant because the police alleged that the film 'Chori
Chori Chupke Chupke' was made by Shakeel while Shah claimed
that he had invested Rs 12 crores in the film and was ready to
produce agreements with producer Rizvi in this regard.
The court receiver has also staked claim on Rs 4.5 crore
received by Bharat Shah from distributers for world rights of
the film. Shah had received this money in advance before the
film was made.
Shah has contended that Rs 4.5 crore received by him was ploughed back as investment in the film and that he did not have this money lying idle with him.
